The Cardinal

In memory of cardinal Bernard Francis Law, archbishop of Boston, USA, from 1984 until 2002. Facilitator of persistant sexual abuse in the archdiocese by more than 80 paedofile priests. Resigned after exposure of the cover-up by the Spotlight investigatory team of the Boston Globe newspaper. After his resignation pope John Paul II nominated him as Archpriest of the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome. The Globe's exposé of the scandal was the subject of the 2015 film 'Spotlight' which won an Oscar for best film.

The Evolution Sisters

In all of the world's major religions women are deemed inferior to men. Women are men's belongings and can have no authority over men. Corinthians 14:34,35, Genesis 3:16 (Bible), Women verse 11, 38, 282 (Koran).

More than 1 in 3 women worldwide have experienced physical or sexual violence in their life, and one in five will be the victim of rape or atttempted rape. 200 million women in 30 countries have suffered female genital mutilation. At least 5000 women are murdered each year in honour killings. In Congo on average 48 women are raped every hour. And the list goes on....

For thousands of years matriarchal societies existed in Africa and they prospered (Nigerian Zazzau, Sudanese Kandake, Angolan Nzinga, Ghanese Ashanti, black ancient Egypt) . By bringing in an oppressive form of colonial christianity in Africa millenia of prosperous matriarchy were replaced with oppressive patriarchy.

Let's hope mankind can re-evolve to a state where women are at least equal to men.

The Holy Truth

In1933 the Vatican signed a Konkordat with Nazi Germany. This was a victory for Hitler, and gave many German catholics the message that national socialism was acceptable. A large number of German clergy collaborated with the Nazi's and some of those were actively involved in "the final solution".
(Hitler's priests, ISBN 9780875803845)
Jozef Ratzinger grew up in that era, was a member of the Hitler Jugend, and was recruited in the Wehrmacht.

De left hand on the two boys and the state of sexual excitement of the main figure symbolise the misuse of power by the church over many years used to force sexual acts on or with children. Scandals of this sort are still coming to light today.

The custom hand made pink shoes Ratzinger wore during his papacy are not exactly witness to the supposed humility of the pope.

2 months after this work was exhibited in Inverness, Scotland, Ratzinger stepped down. ....Uhh no, no connection I'm aware of....
